Managing Dermatology in Practice

On Wednesday 31st October, over 100 GPs and Nurses attended The ‘Managing Dermatology in Practice – An Insight into Skin Lesion Management’ symposium at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.  The meeting was sponsored by an educational grant by Shire Pharmaceuticals and the programme was developed in association with the Primary Care Dermatology Society (PCDS) and British Dermatological Nursing Group (BDNG).  Representatives from both societies facilitated the day and speakers included, Dr Inma Mauri-Sole, GP, Bristol, who delivered an interactive quiz on ‘Lesion Recognition and Differential Diagnosis’ and Dr John Lear, Consultant Dermatologist, Manchester,  who updated delegates on the treatment options available in primary care for the treatment of skin lesions.  The afternoon session included an interactive workshop where delegates were asked to review patient case studies of different types of skin lesions in order to identify, examine and recommend treatment for the condition.

Delegate feedback included, ‘A most enjoyable study day – my best of the year’ and ‘I would like to see more events like this’.
